6 month photo shoot

For Mother's Day I asked Jeff for a photo backdrop so that I could try to take my own portraits at home. Yesterday was the first chance I got to try it out. I really love the black backdrop and would like to get some other colors too. Samantha was a real sport until about her 100th photo and then......

She was DONE!

Jesus Loves Me...

Finding Plums

A couple nights ago Alexys and her friends discovered that we had plums in our "Fruitless Plum Tree". So for the past couple of days the kids have been raiding our tree and any other plum tree on the street. I just love when children discover something they never knew about. They taste good too!

Samantha 6 months old

Happy Father's Day!

Sunday she had her first dip in a pool.
She rolled over from back to tummy today.
Eating solid foods 3 times a day. Rice cereal mixed with something is still her favorite.
Last week we tried turkey which smelled like tuna. She gagged and I gagged and we through the jar away. I could become vegetarian if I had to eat it. YUK!
Splashing in the bath. Loves it!
Can sit up well and for a long period of time.
Talking a lot. Loves to talk during diaper changes. Says dadadada! What about mamamama?
Reaching for things and diving towards them if she has too.
She weighs 15 lbs 3.9 oz.
25 inches long.
rolled over from back to front 6/20/08

Temecula Berry Company

Today we visited the Temecula Berry Company with our Mommy and Me group. I had only had fresh blueberries once before and I didn't really like them. However I thought it would be a great experience for Alexys. To my surprise they were very sweet. That is because they get most of their sweetness in the last 3 days they are on the tree. They have 18 different kinds of blueberries planted here. We even stayed after the tour and picked our own to take home. Mike (the owner and tour guide) recommended that we try them with vanilla ice cream and some honey drizzled on top (which they make too). Oh man was that delicious. This might be my new favorite dessert.

Jeff's Bday

Jeff turned 33 on friday. We had such a nice time hanging out with all of our neighbors and my family. We are so blessed to live in the neighborhood that we do and to have the friendships that we have made. Thank you everyone!

Preschool Graduation

On Wednesday June 4th Alexys graduated from Good Shepherd Lutheran Preschool. I can't believe that my baby girl is going to be starting kindergarten in 2 more months. I am so excited and sad at the same time. It is so cool to see her becoming a young lady but I know my baby is growing up. The years go by so fast. When her teacher handed me her diploma I got tears in my eyes.
Alexys and daddy waiting for her big moment.
Mrs. Linda and Mrs. Jan presenting her with her diploma. When they asked her what she wanted to be when she grows up she said a firefighter. It was funny because all the kids were copying other kids instead of saying what they originally wanted to say which for Alexys was an............
Orange Picker because that is what she likes to do with her Grandpa Martin.

Photoshoot...

I started this tradition of getting photos done every month for the first year when Alexys was a baby. I wish I would of done it when my boys were babies too. It has been so fun to look back and compare the girls each month. Here are a few of Samantha's 5 month pictures courtesy of JC Penney. They really do a great job. This month was fun because she was able to sit up on her own and so smiley!

Missy Girl got a new set of wheels!

Alexys' 5th birthday is this next Friday so we went shopping this weekend for her gift. We never give the kids their gifts early but we couldn't resist. She was so excited the only bummer was that it had to charge for 18 hours so she couldn't ride it until the next day. She was up at 7 am asking if she could ride it. I am sure Jeff was all for giving the gift early so he could have his early too (a new golf bag) since he and Alexys have the same birthday. Which he too is using today. Brian is having a fit today over the whole thing. Oh Well! He will have to get over it.

Alexys' friend Logan has one too and they were riding up and down the street all morning. They were racing with CJ to see who could get to the crosses down the street the fastest. It was so funny!
